First a small band was formed 'Ira in Census' in 1979. Four funny guys came together and made something like others call 'music'. 3 or 4 years of hitsampling started with lil highlights like: open air festival in a soccer stadion (5000 visitors) and many gigs in cultural festivals in and around the hometown of that 4 boys. What do we expect at the age of 16 ...........

After finishing the highschool the 4 guys drifted from each other and as it happens so often one of the 4 formed a new group of genious musicians around him and called that mix 'Spontan' in 83. At this step of development you could hear the intention of mixing up different styles of music and definately the will to make the own songs only. After the year of 1983 they had never covered any song again. The own style was born, always a mix of Reggae, Ska, Irish Folf, Raggamuffin and House.

It took another 8 years to make things perfect. 'Flat Fred & The Brains' were finally founded in 1991. The ambience to fight for rights of the weak is obvious. They sing from dreamers who´ll never find the ways, from miserable circumstances in the world, against fascism and despotism. All this mixed up with fluffy songs which tell us how nice the life can be.
