“You guys seem to be having a really great time up there!” is one of the most frequent comments we hear following a performance. We are comfortable on stage and enjoy playing music together, blending good harmonies, musical talent, and a sense of humor into a good show. We play a variety of music from Country and Western and 70’s rock to sing-a-long folk songs and “old timey” fiddle music, and although we can amplify our music where it is appropriate, we prefer to play acoustically.
Currently, we play every other Thursday evening at the Middlebury Inn and we are at our best performing for their coach tours which provide us with the best opportunity for interaction with the audience. The highlite of our year was opening for nationally known singer-storyteller, Fred Eaglesmith at a benefit concert in Bristol, Vermont. Our band is available for performing at small or large gatherings, with experience at parties (wedding rehearsal, graduations, reunions), holiday gatherings, seasonal festivals, and informal gatherings.
Jack Malzac, guitar, affectionately known as Uncle Jack, is a lead singer and songwriter for the band. The official leader of the band, Jack is our only true Vermonter and lives in Bristol, Vermont. He organized the band under its original name “Highway 10” .
Fran Robideau, guitar , has the amazing capacity to emulate the voice and style of a variety of country artists from Johnny Cash and Roger Miller to Merle Haggard. For years, Fran made his living in Nashville, touring with his band. He also lives in Bristol.
Rick Fitzsimmons, bass and fiddle, is a versatile performer on the stand up bass and an accomplished fiddle player. Specializing in “old timey” fiddle tunes, he gets your toes tapping with a variety of jigs, reels and hornpipes. Rick lives in Shoreham, Vermont.
Jim Murphy, lead guitar, brings years of experience as lead guitar player in rock and roll bands. Jim’s harmony vocals and the magnetic energy of his guitar picking brings life to the band. Jim also lives in Shoreham.
