Fallen Penny......is what happens when these two contrary english guys form a band with those two outgoing german guys. An explosive mix of big guitars and big melody - “...One colossal song after another...” says Sessionlog.de.We call it Indie Britrock: a bit of brit, a lot of rock.Whats the Story?Getting together in 2004 at an old farmhouse (later christened PPH Studios) surrounded by fields and a German Premier League obsessed farmer, Matt, Thorsden, Weaver and Flo slogged it out to reach audiences from Cologne to Hamburg.
They then set out to record and release their debut album under their own label Penny Music. Called Too Busy Waiting, it perfectly captures the FP sound: instantly familiar melodies riding on a train of guitars. One colossal song after another. The first track Take a Bow was awarded Best Guitars and Best Production in Indie Rock at Garageband.com for the last week of 2005. Turn The Light On received best Melody, Bass and Guitars for January 2006. Givin’ The Lover What She Needs was featured on Einslive National Radio in March 2006.
Concurrently, FP racked up over 10,000 downloads at CNET download.com, where they were regularly featured in the editors pick section: '...Fallen Penny has eaten Coldplay for breakfast, gobbled down Embrace for lunch, and they're looking at Supergrass for a snack...'
