Springfield, MO quartet Fall Before Winter combines common ground with diverse influences to forge a unique sonic experience that is further fueled by the unique personality each member brings to the band.

Fall Before Winter creates an energetic and melodic sound comparable to that of the likes of Audiovent, Incubus and Trust Company, while simultaneously maintaining a vibe all their own. The personalities of the band transcend the recording process and energize their live performances. The band's birth can be traced back to when former band mates Jamie Smith (guitar) and Richard Holland (percussion) decided to start a new project. The two shared similar musical interests and had worked together in the past with amazing results. This nascent lineup originally had Smith on lead vocals. After a fateful conversation with Holland's roommate and vocalist Nate Kirch the decision was made (after many beers) to add Kirch as the lead vocalist. 'Nate is one of us, and this just seems natural.' says Holland. 'This lineup change allows me to concentrate on my guitar playing, which is key to our sound' said Smith.

Not wanting to waste any time, the group began the writing process while searching for a bassist. After a series of auditions, the trio finally found what they were looking for in a bassist with the very talented Seth Hatlelid. 'Seth writes very melodic bass lines that compliment Jamie's rhythms, Seth is much more than your average bass player' says Holland. With the lineup now complete, the group continued writing and tightening their sound to become the well-oiled musical machine that they are today. The reactions of those who have heard the music of Fall Before Winter have been overwhelmingly positive.
