FUNKILINIUM began in June of 2002 in Flint, Michigan. Featuring 5 of its original members plus a new drummer & DJ, the band has become a huge draw for fans of real R&B dance music. The live performance is unparalled with accomplished multi-talented musicians on stage from left to right. The band began as a cover band, however chose to re-arrange every cover, setting themselves apart from the rest. The band is now preparing to go global, having just finished their debut CD, tentatively titled, 'What You've Been Waiting For', to be released in late spring 2004. Watch out for this band, they could very well be the start of another directional change in popular music.
Funkilinium is Chef on lead vocals and percussion; GT, on bass and background vocals; Pete Roc on Guitar, Sax, flute & background vocals; Boone on keys, MC-ing, and background vocals; Zoul on keys and drums; Mad Max on drums and now, the new 'X-Factor', DJ Psycho on the turntables. This band is a true 'Justice League' of musicians influenced by music...period.
This hard working band managed to gross close to $100K in annual performances, by networking and word of mouth. Whether it's opening for Sir Mix Alot (playing hip hop) in Indiana, performing at the CD release party for Obie Trice (play our original music), or blowing away 11,000 fans at the 2003 Rock & Regaee Festival (encoring with Tommy the Cat by Primus), they play to entertain all that give of themselves to be at a show.
The band seeks global recognition, by way of the proper distribution, a record deal, the right entertainment lawyer, whatever...the fellas are ready!!! The new CD will feature such a multi-faceted representation of real R&B, music lovers on all levels, and of all ages, will surely have their selection favorites of the 14 tracks that will be listed. Don't miss the boat...
