FAEDRUS
Band Biography

  • From: Syracuse, NY
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 1995

In a day and age when so much music focuses on destruction, materialism and rebellion there comes a refreshing rock-n-roll quartet from Central New York called Faedrus. Touring throughout the Northeast in support of their second album release, Channels, the band is gaining more loyal fans and great opportunities by the moment. With upbeat songs, well polished lyrics and a superb musical ability, these four men are turning a lot of heads to their positive style of rock-n-roll. With messages of progress, hope and personal growth, Faedrus becomes an idea or an answer for life's constant roller coaster ride.

The bands' live success is attributable to their uncanny ability to professionally perform music in several different styles (rock, pop, jazz, blues & jam), while combining tight melodic vocals. The band frequently teases the listener by moving in and out of single melody lines to two and three part harmonies several times in one song. The band has been performing for over six years playing shows at several venues in New York City, Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton, Corning, Watertown and several other cities. Along with consistent performances in clubs and bars around the state, the band pursues an active spring and summer festival tour.

Since its inception in 1995, Faedrus has logged over 2000 hours on stage. They have performed with the likes of Allman Brothers' guitarist Warren Haynes and his solo project Gov't Mule. Faedrus has received several nominations from the Central New York Sammy Awards: (1997) Best Modern Rock Band (1998) Best Rock Band (2001) Best Jam Band. I guess they are having a hard time dropping a label on them, ha, ha. They have rocked the New York state music scene with regular performances at Armory High/Styleen's Rhythm Palace, The Planet 505, No Borders No Boundaries, Broadway Joe's, and The Elbow Room. Faedrus has also entertained crowds four consecutive years at both the Sterling Stage Music Festival and Le Moyne College's springfest, 'Dolphy Day.'

Their intricately written and adamantly rehearsed all-original music along with inventive new twists to obscure cover songs display this bands desire to change the face of sonic music. Faedrus brings the typical music and club scene to a new level.
