Everything is a three - piece outfit playing progressive rock with a personal and emotive feel. The songs are usually intricate with lyrics to match inspired by different moods, thoughts and situations. Everything hail form the north east suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
Everything have recently recorded a number ofa quality EPs that showcase the band’s ability as songwriters and musicians. To support these recordings Everything have played a string of live shows around Fitzroy, Carlton, South Yarra and Brunswick. Although Everything are a three-piece band they get a surprisingly full sound even on stage. This is achieved by having three talented musicians performing in unison.
Jim is the main vocalist and a superb guitarist. His clear vocals bring to life each story, complemented perfectly by his vast talent and dexterity on the fret board. He can play like a demon in one song with chunky rhythm patterns and screaming solo parts whilst he can just as easily tone it down and play mellow in the next. Peter is the drummer whose passion and flair for drumming is only matched by his showmanship on stage. This guy really loves to play the drums and this is evident on all recordings and live performances. Paul, Jim’s brother, is the band’s principal songwriter. He sings, plays bass and guitar and is a prolific songwriter and lyricist. The voice is baritone with deep full notes and the bass parts drive the whole band along.
Everything are concerned with the grandest questions and at the same time personal issues people face today. For this reason the songs centre around such themes as space/the universe, fascination/adoration, personal loss, and human frailty.
