Ethyline was formed from the 'ashes' of the Chicago punk band Sludgeworth, which broke up in 1993. The band is still writing songs with a punk influence, but have evolved a bit, in a natural - more melodic direction. Big guitar driven hooks, and a rhythm section producing irresistible grooves, and up front - intense / heartfelt vocals.
Ethyline has continued to play in Chicago, and around the midwest consistently over the years. After a single, and a full-length c.d., as well as a soundtrack inclusion for the motion picture 'Masterminds' were all released internationally in 1997 through the label Wild West/Fluid Recordings (Distribution by Caroline in the U.S., and Edel/Concrete in Europe), Ethyline embarked on their first (independant)European tour - playing in Holland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden over a three-week period in September/October 1999. They are currently making plans to go back to Europe; trying to get into Australia, and do a tour of the U.S. - after the release of their second full length release which will be available in the summer of 2001 www.wildwestrecords.com).
Ethyline has also had songs prominently included on the television shows: 'Party Of Five', 'Dangerous Minds', 'Gross Pointe', and 'The Sopranos', as well as another movie - 'Whiteboyz', and song clips on Fox Sports.
