Eric Storm
Band Biography

  • From: Dallas, TX
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 1999

The stage presence of Steven Tyler.....the vocal range and talent of Robert Plant..... the charisma and sex appeal of Jim Morrison....these are just some of the comparisons that critics have made to Eric Storm. This flashy frontman has a talent and style all his own. After great success with such groups as Blind Side and The Pozers, Eric has now struck out on his own. With the backing of T.N.A. Records (Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas Records) Storm prepares to release his first solo CD.

Eric, however, was not always the brashly confident lead vocalist that takes the stage today. He began his music career at age 12, playing the drums. At age 15 Storm joined his first 'real' band, Plexus. Basically a cover band, Plexus did enjoy moderate success on the club circuit. A high point in this groups tenure came when they signed a deal (Eric's first) with Metal Shop Records to release a 45 single (right before CD's took over as the media of choice). After a few years Eric realized he had the drive, ambition, and talent to front his own band and would no longer be content to take a back seat. In the Spring of 1991 he joined Fare Warning, this would be where he honed and perfected his vocal style and stage presence. Fare Warning quickly became a major player on the Dallas club circuit, playing what was then known as the Big Four - Dallas City Limits, The Basement, On The Rocks, and Smokin Dave's Rock Room.

In 1993 Eric and bassist Andy Thompson left the group to form a heavier band that would be more along the musical style of the times. However the group, Tyrant, seemed doomed from the start. The group only lasted a year and by 1994 Eric was back with old bandmates Jason Seals & David Seals from Fare Warning, with new bassist Jamie Crane. Blind Side, as the band was dubbed, began to build a following. The group even managed to land a deal with Dallas based T.N.A. Records, after sending the label a two song demo. In 1995 Blind Side released it's first studio project 'Generation XXX'. The music was powerful and edgy, and allowed Eric's vocals to shine through. Blind Side began touring, but after a few dates problems from the Fare Warning days began to resurface. Knowing that things were not going to change, after Blind Side's commitments to T.N.A. Records were fulfilled, Eric left the group. All at once, Storm was without a band and without a record deal. Long time friend and musical acquaintance, Jim Richey, was currently play in a group called The Pozers. After talking with Richey, Eric learned that Jim was unhappy with his bands lineup. It only took a few phone calls before Eric was in The Pozers. Storm recorded and toured with the group throughout 1996 and 1997, until he left the group in April of that year.

A couple of years pasted and Eric seemed content to live a quiet life away from the spotlight of the music business. However, all this time The Pozers CD continued to sell more and more copies over seas. Turn Me On, Eric's feature song, had become a big hit in Europe and T.N.A. Records wanted to capitalize on it's success. In November of 1999, Eric Storm received a phone call from Mark Lee, president and C.E.O. of T.N.A. Records. Lee offered him a 2 album deal featuring a promotional EP, a signing bonus, and the option of touring. By this time Eric was hungry to get back into music and this record deal with T.N.A. was just what he needed. T.N.A. Records has just released 'I'm Sure You've Heard it all Before', a six song promotional CD and have plans to release the first Eric Storm 'EP' in the Spring of 2001. 'It's great to be back in the studio again making music' Storm says 'I'm extremely excited about the new music that I will be recording on the full length CD project.' Storm has teamed up with former bandmate Jim Richey to write and produce his new CD, slated for a European release in the Spring of 2002.
