Eric Lives Here is a blend of acoustically driven alternative pop rock that has won over fans from all different demographics. With powerful lyrics and awe-inspiring guitar parts Eric Lives Here captivates audiences with their unique style and incredible talent. In early 2006, Mike Thiel and Chris Schmitz began writing songs together in their dorms rooms at St. Norbert College. After a few good reviews from their peers they began to consider the posibility of forming a band and getting shows in the De Pere area. With nothing more than an acoustic guitar and vocals they knew they would need to find more members who would be as dedicated and talented as them. Their search lead them to two brilliant guitarists, and good friends, Mike Flood and Pat O'brien and Ryan Petersen on drums. The group started off playing the songs that Thiel and Schmitz had written acoustically and is now beginning to take on tunes from Flood's solo work and writing their own songs together as well.
After a few successful shows in the De Pere area they are starting to look for more local area shows and have already booked some bigger events and will be perfomring with Wisconsin's WAMI artist of the year 'Boxkar' in late August. They are now searching to make a name for themselves and playing more shows and have an EP coming out in early August/late July.
The band consists of Mike Flood on guitar, backup vocals, bass, and keys; Pat O'Brien on guitar and bass; Mike Thiel singing lead vocals; Ryan Petersen on Drums; and Chris Schmitz on guitar, keys, bass, and violin. Each individual has had years of training and practice in styles from classical to rock to jazz. These different styles are what gives the band their unique tone and incredible talent.
