Electric Tea Party
Band Biography

  • From: Ringgold, GA
  • No. of Members: 4
  • Year Established: 2000

This is more like it - a moderne' act that actually lays out music with hooks! Whatever the inexplicable thang is that makes a tune go 'round and 'round in your head (read Chick Magnets) these guys have it.

The sound? Definative British/UK (Grr baby. Yeah!)the only band in a hundred kilometers of Chattanooga that actually provides what could be termed 'singles' - hook laden vox and licks that are an astounding combination of the Cure, the Fab Four, Space Hog, Early Bowie, all conveniently linked to a loping beat that moves ya.

Lyically, these guys are out of control - Illusionary references to Oscar Wilde, Mao Tse Tung, Roman Polanski and guilt free fun sex in 'Pretty Pretty Sunday', being dragged down the motorway of life and love in 'Love Drug', singing songs about dope, singing about each other in 'Dr. Robertson', the ever popular gunning your Messerschmidt in a dive for that tasty young bird in 'Cup of Tea', the acid day glo of 'A - Train' and the interpetive tune of the 90's - like Heartbreak Hotel was to the 50's, Strawberry Fields Forvever was to the 60's, Comfortably Numb was to the 80's and Smells Like Teen Spirit was to the 90's is the opus 'Catch My Wave'. These and eight other tunes bound for your local station in the upcoming CD Electric Tea Party. This good timing (and good looking) four piece includes Bryan Stewart, Mark de Vane on vox and guitars/sitars, Wes Bowie on bass and Kevin Workman mit vox und drums. The upcoming debut (signed by Siggi Churchill to Hex Corps Music) out soon.

The '...four headed monster from Ringgold...' provides a convincing, fresh approach to modern Rock - that no one else seems capable of - '...Electric Tea Party are the heralds of a New Wave of sounds from every time and place, witty asides and stunning social commentary. They are the divine avatars of future rock...' D.A. Weinthal - Enigma Publishing, Chattanoog TN
