Singer and songwriter Eddie Elliott’s songs are straightforward and timeless. He writes about love, the lure of the road, spirituality and anything else that comes his way. He’s the consummate storyteller, his songs inspire and amaze and his voice is strong and certain. When Elliott sings you know you’re hearing the truth.
Elliott has always had an ability to connect with people that was evident from the time he learned to speak. At two years old, Elliott had befriended most of his neighbors, many of whom said hello to him by name, much to his mother’s surprise. To this day, his greatest gift is connecting with people. Elliott’s love of music began when he was a small boy singing along with the radio, impressing his mother with his ability to remember every word to a song. Through choirs and clarinets to guitar playing and songwriting, his love of music has never wavered. When Elliott sings, he holds nothing back.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Elliott’s music ambitions inspired his move to Los Angeles, a place where, he says, the caliber of talent continually challenged him to improve. He began writing songs and playing guitar in earnest, honing his voice and recording his first CD, Just Flows, in a friend’s garage. Elliott soon began playing opening act slots at Los Angeles clubs, attracting a diverse and devoted audience that gave him the confidence to embark on a 25-city tour in summer 1998. Elliott met thousands of people, quickly built a fan base and repeated his success during a summer 1999 tour. In February 2000 he recorded his second CD, Moving, and released This Time, his most recent recording to date, in 2003.
Now based in Arizona, Eddie Elliott is a brilliant songwriter and a magnetic stage performer. In 2004 Elliott made two live television appearances: on Phoenix-based “Good Morning Arizona” and “Good Morning Texas” (WFAA Channel 8, Dallas’ ABC affiliate). In November 2004, Elliott again performed live on “Good Morning Arizona” and his CDs are now available at all ZIA Records stores. A prerecorded performance followed in December for a “Good Morning Arizona” holiday special. Elliott next performed on the May 28, 2005, edition of “Folk Sessions, Live!”, broadcast weekly on Prescott's National Public Radio Station KJZA-FM, 89.5 FM. On June 9 he appeared for the second time on “Good Morning Texas”, where he performed live and was interviewed by local television personality Gary Cogill. On June 9 through 11, Elliott played shows in Houston, Dallas and Austin, supporting Shawn Mullins’ 2005 national tour. His next CD is scheduled for release in fall 2005.
