Drastic is a 3 piece rock band that knows no trend. We started by playing covers of Sublime, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins song and somewhere along the way developed a bunch of our own songs that fall into the same categories. After a while of playing the originals started adapting a style of their own that can simply be a 3 minute pop song or a intensly arranged piece that takes you on a 9 minute emotional rollercoaster. The songs encompass a tone of emotional mysticism.

Drastic is Dan Bender on Guitar and vocals, Justin Westwood, bass, backup vocals and acoustic guitar, and Brian Haberl on drums. Their love of music and the fact that each owned and played different instruments was the beginning of the basement jams.

After a while of playing for themselves and a several month stint at a local Pittsburgh area bar, they decided to start booking other gigs around the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Shortly after they generated the attention of a new local record label, Mellow Mood Records. Mellow Mood recorded their first 5 song demo and is currently recording their first full length CD. They will also be recording an acoustic CD of entirely new 'on the spot' songs in summer of 2002. They are currently looking to expand their playing area to be a regional band playing the east Ohio area and West Virginia area.
