Can Rock and Latin Jazz really come together? I think Santana answered that question a long time ago. The Rock-a-jazz phenomenon is nothing new. The fusion of Latin and American flavors have (in the past) and will continue to yield interesting sounds. Dr Jekill is the new and redefined face of the American-Latin fusion. Their diverse backgrounds and influences make possible a much more natural feel in their music. Overall, they're the real deal.
The band was founded in 1997 in Miami, FL. And soon thereafter made the trip to the West Coast. The trio has been featured in many national events including 'The Three Arts Event' at the 24th street Theater in Los Angeles, CA; sponsored by RockEngine Productions Group and benefit drives as in the case of a series of concerts to benefit the 'Jimmy Ryce Foundation' advocates for the cause of missing children.
Dr Jekill headlined a 1998 concert at the festival of the arts at the 'Queen Mary' in Long Beach, CA and has made radio appearances including the 'Dirty Dave Show' in KCLA 99FM in Los Angeles, CA. The band has also performed at several other venues in Southern California and Florida.
In 2002 Dr Jekill released their first single 'Mother's Love' with incredible success. Soon thereafter the trio signed exclusively with RPG Records. The newest creation of the Doctor (faking my death) is now in it's final mixing stage and will be available for sale soon. A single (pre-release of the feature album) is available for sale at CD Baby and also available for download on Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, Sony Connect, the new Napster, AOL's MusicNet, BuyMusic, Emusic, MusicMatch, and others.
