IN THE BEGINNING, Mike Smith and Dan Deluca started jammin' together in late October 99' in Mike's basement. They soon found a former co-worker of Dan's, Jarod Adams. Mike and Dan only tried out one other bassist and realized Jarod was the man. Jarod joined the band in early March '00 and began writing and arranging original material. After hours and hours of drilling the riffs, things started to sound like real songs. Things never came easy, but each member knew the benefits of hard work and practice.
In search of a singer one November '00 night, Mike was in a local tavern on karaoke night witnessing some of the WORST talent around, when a guy from school, Skin E. Thompson, stepped up to the mic. 'War Pigs' came on and E. was goin' nuts. Hypin' up the crowd and getting people movin'. When Mike saw his display of raw talent, he was immediately inspired. Following his performance, Mike went up to E. and asked him to tryout for the band. Skin E. came to one practice and was unsure if he could make ends meet. A few weeks went by and E. never showed again. Then one night, Mike saw E. at a show and talked him into comin' back. A week later, E. showed Mike some lyrics he'd been working on. He'd never written anything before. Mike was impressed. E. made his words fit in with a song the rest of the band was working on at the same time. It soon became the first song on the cd, 'Overtime'. The next time E. showed up, he started listening to a newer tune the band had writt! en, 'Waste of Space'. Immediately, he started movin' around. Everybody looked at each other and smiled. THE BAND WAS COMPLETE.
ABOUT THE CD: The four songs on the CD were recorded and mixed on May 18th, 19th, 20th, 2001 ( in one weekend ) at Naych Studio in Mayville, WI. Cory Jacobson (lead guitarist of Naych) recorded, produced, and mixed the whole disc and did one hell of a job. When someone got frustrated, Cory kept his cool and stood patient. A bottle of Old Thompson whiskey, a lot of Milwaukee's Best Ice Beer, and some Total Hangover Cure, were some key elements used to finish our tracks. On 'Overtime' Mike Stuht (lead singer of Naych) did dual vocals with E. and Jarod. Cory has an awesome ear for our type of music and a lot of knowledge about the equipment used to complete the disc. Everyone was completely satisfied with the finished product.
