Dirty Ol Soul & The Funk Family consists of 5 musicians and about 20 musicians in the Family who play with us on and off but 10 members at once is the most we've had. We mix a unique blend of jazz & funk with elements of latin, reggae, and groove music thrown into the funky chaos. All the musicians are Proficient at their instruments and we all strive to become better as we find what we do to be the most enjoyable thing in our lives and it shows whenever you stick us in front of a large crowd.

The main group itself consists of Brian Mahne on Bass and the Wurlitzer at times, DJ Williams on guitar, Kevin Duncan on that ol' saxophone, Justin Huppmann on guitar, and Craig Staverisi on the drums and percussion. The five of us tastefully play and 'speak' to each other musically and try to get the audience involved. Not to many people can help that tapping foot in the opening song turn into an all out dance session before the last notes are hit.

As we approach our one year anniversary we can look back on many fun moments. Like having Jeff Bunn (bass player from the Parliament) sit in with us in Richmond. DJ Williams getting to open up for Keller Williams at the Keller Freek Fest. Selling out VA beach venues.And recording our debut album 'Fun-K-Stuff'. Philip Noland was one of the three original members as he will be missed as well as the sweet sounds of his keyboards. D.O.S is still bringing the funk music!
