Dirty Bird was put together in the Summer of 2000. Two staff members (Mark Fabio- Guitar and John Gillick- Drums) of the Raiders Drum Corps began jamming on tunes from the Grateful Dead, The Everly Bros. Jimmy Buffet, and Springsteen. As they started to have more fun they began to jam during the Fall of that year. In the winter of 2000 - 2001 they added Mike Hamilton on bass and Don Pfleger on trumpet. Practicing through 2001 the band added Steve Rodrigues on percussion. Dirty Bird has seen a number of guitar players settling on Chris 'Lefty' Arie in September of 2002. Chris is also an accomplished mandolin player bringing a new diverse sound to the band.
