Diminished Faith was formed by band leader, Ray Wellman and bassist Dave Beasley in 2006. For almost 3 years they searched for the right members to start a serious project with, and they were either not ready to be in a band, or unable to commit. Ray and Dave split up for awhile, and Ray starting writing songs and wrote about 15 songs solo. Dave went on to focus on perfecting his craft, and waited for the oppurtunity to start up again. Ray went on to be in the Orlando based band, Diredrone as lead guitar and vocals, and then onto Cover the Sun as lead guitarist. Diredrone split up, and Cover the Sun went on hiaetus. The duo decided to give it another shot and started up Diminished Faith again. Alex Ortiz was brought into the band (along with a few others, Alex was the only one to stay on) and with his skills as a guitarist and great vocals landed his permanent spot in Diminished Faith.

The future of Diminished Faith was uncertain, until Dave got an answer for an add on myspace by a drummer named Rich Hague. Since then the band has been progressing well.

They have a solid 8 song set with another 8 songs being worked on during rehearsal. As many bands will say, they don't sound like anyone else, only they have a familiar sound. You just can't put your finger on what band it may be that Diminished Faith would sound most like. Alice In Chains is the biggest influence of lead vocalist, lead guitarist, song writer, Ray Wellman, Tool is Dave Beasley's the bassist for the band, Ill Nino is Alex Ortiz, rhythm guitarist and vocalist, and Linkin Park is Rich Hague's the percussionist of the band.

'When I write, I don't have a particular 'sound' I'm trying to achieve. I just write how I feel at that point, or whatever riff or progression catches my ear.
