Dimes Only began about a year back in the fall of 99. We thought of our name after much brainstorming one hot day in july. Seeing the pettiness and absurdity of the name we decided to make up a story, a story which over time would change into an almost unbelievable entity. We began telling people that our name came about after we heard that Sadam Hussein said he would call off the Persian gulf war in exchange for 12 billion dollars in DIMES ONLY. The story grew from there and eventually include an insane arab sultan, and a few hot women.

Dimes Only began practicing quite fervently in the fall of 99. They began to form a quite colorful and varied form of music that included most music tyes : rock, funk, reggae, pop, punk, and indie rock. They even went so far as to write a heroic superhero theme song they called 'stuntman'. Though Dimes Only provides many song genres they are now mostly concentrating on rock, as it brings the most satisfaction to play.

Dimes Only, with the musical creativity that inspired their formation, sson began recording their first cd which was released in April titled 'Middle Street Entertainment'. It included fourteen of the bands original songs. Without stoppong for a breathe they began formulating new ideas for songs and have over 20 original songs on their playlist to date.

Dimes Only for the most part plays original works. Occasionally, they might break out into the familiar tune of Brwon Eyes Girl or Magic Carpet Ride. There cover songs also include the Dick Dale song 'Mizzerlou' made infamous by the Pulp Fiction sound track or the childhood favorite 'Tetris theme song' played in a variety of music genres.
