Outta, Bakersfield, Calif we grew up with the boys of Korn, and Ryan Shuck of Orgy. We shared a lot of the same musical influences and a very same musical scene. Going our seprate ways, a small selection of very talented bands were formed from Bakersfield. Korn, Videodrone, Orgy, Juice, and Digit...
Digit's story... It started with Monday Morning Grind, Lead Singer Mike McClain, Richard Bench on Bass, Ryan Oliver & Sam Morris on Guitars, and Greg Hutchins on the drums. And within a short year the life to Digit was starting to bring form. Mike McClain decided to leave the band due to personal reasons but before leaving, Mike introduced Digit to a singer he knew, Tim Claiborne. The band auditioned Tim, and immediately Digit knew they had found their new lead singer. Tim was known for a having a soulful voice and an awesome stage presence, with that the rest of the members were hooked. Recruiting Tim gave everyone the opportunity to create the sound they had been envisioning for so long. Thus... The Young Digit was born. Digit didn't realize at the time that what they had created would turn into such a success so quickly. Within a couple months they were being invited to play all of the big venues in and out of town. Meanwhile Digit was tearing up the Internet. Being recognized at 'TheBandOFtheWeek.COM,' 'GarageBand.COM,' 'MP3.COM,' 'FARMCLUB.COM' and many other music related sites solidified Digit's place in the underground music world. In keeping with Digit's ever-changing evolution they seized the chance to acquire one of the best drummers in central California, Jesse Trejo. With a new rhythm section Digit is redefining the sound of music, as we know it today.
The Band is always finding ways of changing their sound. Being abstract and unconventional is what they do best. From flowing melodies to passionate, heartfelt lyrics, you never know what to expect. This sound is what makes their fan-base grow larger by the day. Not wanting to disappoint their fans, Digit will continue to evolve as one of the most recognized names in the underground band scene.
