Dead Alive plays a type of music that the band calls 'Ghoulrock.' It is essentially a mixture of Goth (Bauhaus, the Cure, Christian Death, Sisters of Mercy), Punk (the Misfits, the Casualties, the Sex Pistols, Crass), and Metal (old Megadeth, old Metallica, Sepultura, Anthrax). At times the band has also experimented with Hip-Hop (ICP, NWA, Eminem, Hot Boys), Industrial (Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails) and Irish/American folk/murder-ballad type music.
