We are an electronic Rock band based in Ashford, Kent, England. Matt Dene is the songwriter as well as vocalist, and he formed Dayfall last year because he wanted to get his music heard, as it is a little different from the norm. He writes all his songs on Cubase, and are keyboard based. On stage, we have Matt (lead vocals), Lara (laptop, keyboard and backing vocals), Brian (he plays a 10-stringed Chapman stick on some songs as well as his trusty bass guitar), Dan (rhythm) guitar, although he plays a few mean lead pieces) and Trevor (electronic & acoustic drums). We have only had a live drummer for a few weeks, as the drums used to be on Cubase, and we used to rehearse every week in our lounge at home...luckily, we have fantastic neighbours who like what we do....now we have Trevor on drums, we practise weekly at a studio. We now have three hours of material.

We thought it would be hard getting gigs, but we have been pleasantly surprised at how adventurous pub owners have become, and we are gigging most weekends which is great. The public have taken to us very well, which has again surprised us...we have had many people say our music is not what they normally listen to, but like it...and they have turned up to most gigs, and we now have a good following, which is flattering. One of the biggest buzzes we get is when we see punk and heavy metal/rock followers dancing and head-banging to our music.

Last year when we first started, a music critic told us to keep doing what we are doing as he said there was a niche for this type of music...We are pleased to say that he was right, and we are being kept very busy.

We have been chosen to play at three music festivals this year, and have just been featured on the internet radio station Q music radio, and have been accepted by two other internet radio stations, including ‘Goo Music Radio’. ‘Dark Wonders’, ‘Absent Friends’, Come Alive’ and ‘Fallen One’ are the tracks they have chosen to play.Apart from the obvious aim of becoming known and getting signed, our immediate aim is to reach enough people so that our chat room on our website is being used 24 hours a day. It will take some very determined people to stick it out in the room until enough people regularly log on and chat....anyone want to try and get this going for us?
