Contraption came into being during the spring thaw of 2000 in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont... As a quartet with a strong commitment to progressive, challenging, and original music, Contraption has quickly fallen into demand among the scores of today's 'Jamband' community.
Contraption is comprised of four individuals - Michael Herrman (Percussion), Daniel Lotito (Bass Guitar, Vocals), Todd Stoops (Keys, Vocals), and Jay Wilder (Guitar, Vocals) - Having diverse influences, the four merge to create 'nusion' a new kind of fusion music which incorporates genres far beyond (but including) jazz and rock.
Contraption's groundbreaking original style has earned them a generous amount of success during their first two years of existence, performing its well-tailored, eclectic brand of music for audiences across the New England area. Ranging from jazz enthusiasts to jamband fans to commercial music lovers, Contraption's growing fan base seems to mirror the band's diverse approach to song writing and live performance.
