In 2002, Gina Turner wanted to enhance the sound of her acoustic show. She enlisted the help of Alex Rogers, and eventually Scott Saxon (on drums and extra guitars, respectively). Thus, Consumption was formed.

The band has transformed over and over again, since its birth. Members have come and gone. Consumption has ascended almost every stage on the MS Gulf Coast, while simultaneously undertaking lengthy studio stints.

While currently on hiatus from live shows, the band is once again in the midst of another session. By summer 2005, Consumption plans to focus on touring regionally and releasing new recordings.
