Clones of Sam, the brainchild of an ex-Jazz drummer turned Guitarist hails from Warwick, RI. Over the past few years Rick Belluso, lead songwriter, has been crafting powerful, emotional, and infectious melodies with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and his home computer. While attending Umass Amherst, he secretly used his roommate Eric's guitar to record basic song ideas that would later become the heart and soul of The Little EP. The number of demos piled up, overflowing with creative and commercial potential. Rick knew it was time to take the next logical step.
During the winter months, after recruiting lead guitarist and brother Ron, the Clones of Sam’s sound began to emerge. Ron’s technical skill and passion for originality forced new ideas and concepts into the mix. Rick knew it was time to balance out the band with a bass player who, on the one hand is technically competent, but also adds personality and style into the low end: Enter Brendan Allen.
Longtime friend and skilled musician, Brendan adds much more than simple root notes. A listen to any Clones of Sam track will unearth tones of funk, jazz, blues, and rock influences. Mike Jacques is the latest addition to the CoS lineup as drummer. His exciting and energetic playing style coupled with extreme attention to detail stabilizes the music, and rocks it to the edge with class and style.
In a world full of generic, disposable musical acts, Clones of Sam breaks the trend and sets a new standard in songwriting and rockability. Their music reaches fans from every musical background and consistently breeds originality. With influences ranging from the Beatles to the Smashing Pumpkins, Frank Sinatra to Freddie Mercury, Clones of Sam delivers undeniably captivating music that sticks with listeners, and leaves them hungry for more.
