Clockwork Orange is a representation of creativity and freedom of expression. Through their music the listener can experience the endless possibilities of musical styles and how they meld them together. Founded in 1991 by drummer, percussionist, guitarist, and vocalist Tarkus Katz. He began to form a band that would not conform to any genre, leaving behind the cover tunes. Bassist, guitarist, and vocalist Marty Massoff shared the same feeling of creative independence and added his knowledge to the existing thought of playing only original music. The band added yet another leg and started writing and recording original music. Dave Erbaugh, guitarist, bassist, and vocalist contributed his vast knowledge of science and electronics to the already experimental style of Tarkus and Marty. A few years later, after auditions, the forth leg was added. Tobias Isaac's, vocalist, guitarist, drummer, and percussionist started writing and recording in the studio just two weeks into the band.
Tragically in April of 1997, Marty Massoff was burned over 65% of his body in a job-related accident. The band decided to finish their recording project in Massoff's honor. Amazingly, Marty's accident did not break his spirit and on August 18th, 1997 Clockwork Orange surprised their fans by headlining Marty's benefit concert. Also surprising Marty and fans alike with a finished copy of their new CD Spoons in the Suicide Clinic, a 6 song EP with 2 hidden tracts. In early 1998 Manager Sandra Boyce created a website for Clockwork Orange which includes biographies, photos, sound clips, video clips, and list of venues. It can be found at http://www.infocom.com/~clocko You can email the band at clocko@infocom.com or email individual members on their bio pages.
This year Clockwork Orange has been in the studio recording new material, constantly playing venues. Their production company Clock 'O Productions have been working and sponsoring charities, benefits, and presenting local musicians. In May Clockwork Orange traveled to Providence, Rhode Island placing a respectful 6th place in the 'Song Slam' competition. The band drove 16 hours to play 2 songs in front of Sony Entertainment, Virgin Records, Atlantic Records, Rolling Stone Magazine and many other music industry representatives. In June Clockwork Orange played in a Nationwide Talent Search for such labels as Arista Records, playing two songs and loudly pleasing the crowd.
Clockwork Orange feel very fortunate to have come this far. 'The fans and our families and friends have supported us all the way and for that we are eternally grateful.' 'We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all who have supported us, without you we would not be where we are.'
