Celestial Static consists of Julie Elzerman (lead vocals and guitar), Jeremy Elzerman (bass guitar), and Erin Lee (vocals and drums).The band formed in March of 2000. Since then, Celestial Static has performed at many Chicago area venues such as The Metro, Double Door, Abbey Pub, The Elbo Room, Fireside Bowl, Gunther Murphy’s, The Lyon’s Den, The Note, Otto’s Niteclub, Beat Kitchen, Subterranean, Starbucks, Borders Bookstores, Kiss the Sky Record Store, and 602 North. They have also performed at The Hurricane (in Kansas City, MO), Judson College, Indiana University, and Augustana University among other venues.

Celestial Static released a 7 song EP, entitled Rumors of Snow, in December of 2001. Their second and latest CD, Everything I Don’t Want EP, was recorded and engineered by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. This 5 song EP was released in May of 2003.

Celestial Static is found in a similar vein with such bands as Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Foo Fighters. The energetic modern rock grooves with catchy female harmonies prove Celestial Static to be a powerful rock trio.
