Casual Blue’s demo-EP, I Wish You Didn’t Know, was finished in late 1998, and the pop/rock band began to gig in April of 1999. The group was an instant success with over two hundred people present at the first show, and the roller coaster ride began. Casual Blue played twice a month, repeating at some venues where their first appearance awarded them a headlining spot upon return at venues such as Club Bene – South Amboy, The Birch Hill – Old Bridge and The Downtime - New York City. Casual Blue has also begun performing at colleges such as The College Of New Jersey – Ewing, and University of Scranton – Scranton, PA.
Most recently, Casual Blue was the winners of the first round of The Birch Hill Talent Search. The group has also opened up for prominent artists in the music industry such as Capricorn Recording Artists, The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies. Casual Blue has also received radio play in the area off of their demo-EP and placed at the top of the charts on college radio stations.
The group has recently released their second EP, Through the In Between, a promotional CD featuring three new songs, and acoustic versions of favorites. The EP was exclusively released through mp3.com as a DAM CD and reached number one on mp3.com rock charts after seven days of release. Future plans are to gain more radio play, play colleges, expand the fan base, tour to the Northeast, and record their full-length album with Natalie Merchant's producer, Paul Antonell.
