In the spring of '99 Will received a call from Mike.'Hey man, I need someone to play some
guitar tracks for some parts I have. I've got a new computer program I want to try out.' Mike
and Will used to play in several bands together but Will became disenchanted with the
scene while Mike remained active as a drummer.'Yeah, dude,' replied Will,'I've been
wanting to jam, when you wanna do it? I'm free tonight' 'Come on over.'
COOL was born. That first night two songs were written. They decided that Sundays would
be set aside for recording. New songs were being churned out at a rapid rate. The first two,
Don't Give It Away and I Win, which would later be dropped, were followed by Your
Lovin', If, and Spice Girls.
Will knew that leads were not his strong point so he and Mike agreed to bring in an outside
soloist. A couple of weeks before, they had run into Jason at a local fair. They knew each
other from the local scene and talked about who was doing what. Will remembered that
Jason was free and looking to jam. Having remembered where Jason said he was working,
Will called Jason's work, 'Jason, I don't know if you remember me, my name's Will, we
talked at the Crawfish fest.' 'Yeah man, what's up?' 'I have a project and I need a lead
player.' 'Yeah?' 'Yeah. Would you be interested in hearing some tracks and if you like them
- lay down some lead work?'
'Sure.'

Jason was invited to COOL Headquarters for a session. It worked out well, tracks were laid
and collaborations ensued. The trio decided to start rehearsing with a bass player named
Rob Flanagan, a friend. However, Rob's busy schedule lent the band no real availability.
COOL was bass player hunting. After wining and dining some prospects a very close friend
of Mike and Will said,'Hey, why don't you let me play bass?' 'Denny, you haven't picked up
a guitar in ten years,' added Mike.
But they decided since he was a friend he deserved at least a chance. Denny bought a
bass, learned the songs, and laid tracks - in two weeks.
COOL was solid, the band took form, and the CD 'Lovin Life' was recorded solely on a
computer program.
The music itself is reminiscent of the straightforward sound embodied in acts like Van
Halen, early Lenny Kravitz, KISS, early Motley Crue, and The Cult. All songs are
collaborated upon and no one member writes a song. Above all, the music makes you want
to party - and that's Rock'n'Roll
-COOL-.
