On the surface of things the music of COMMOTIO lies within the realm of rock n' roll. However, the (adept) listener will quickly identify various elements of funk, jazz, pop, and even a hint of folk as the main-ingredients in the musical melting-pot of COMMOTIO. The different pieces of the puzzle are put together with a tastefull looseness, thus bringing the nit and grit plus a playfull element of the unexpected to the tightly produced and immediately recognisable sound of Commotio. The intensely naughty lyrics of front man and vocalist F. Liberti are raw, ironic and immediately honest tell-tales of the equally raw and at times tragi-comic world in which the band finds itself. Though the harshness of the words might at times seem provoking to some, the songs will always leave the listener with a hope of better days to come. As the vastness of the musical cosmos is revealed by its diversity, it sums up the band's philosophy: Nothing is too extreme - Anything is possible.

Even though the line-up, which consists of vocals, guitar, bass and drums signifies a continuing presence of the rock n' roll tradition as it has been, more or less consistantly, for the last 50 years or so, no-one will be mistaken in claiming that COMMOTIO has its very own sound.
