In a quest one arduously searches for the pieces that fit, the completion of the puzzle, the final objective. In 2001 the quest began, in 2004 the quest was over, and in 2005 the end result isunstoppable. 'We have been searching for each other' says guitarist and founding member Ryann Mills; 'each one of us were looking for three other people that would ultimately define what we wanted to achieve musically'.
To make a long story short, Ryann and drummer Travis Goudy met in St. Petersburg, FL during an audition for another group. Afterwards both decided they had not found what they were looking for and went their separate ways. A few weeks later they met again and agreed that their search should become one...the beginning of Burn Theory. Their search eventually led them to find bassist Tom Badgley. After tenures with a variety of vocalists a call from a local club owner led them to the missing component, enter vocalist Greg Redding. 'We knew Greg from his previous band and we had played some shows together, it was really exciting to hear his name mentioned' says Travis. Two days later, Greg met up with the group and has never looked back, 'It was magic, in a matter of minutes we all knew that we had something special brewing'.
The combination born is a blend of heavy alternative rock/metal that incorporates the influences of four individual musical tastes; all standing out while creating an audible picture of situational emotion. Lyrically, Greg takes you on a roller coaster ride of feelings from personal remembrances and experience, sometimes breaking from a heartfelt melody to a gut-wrenching scream. Together with the thick groove laden background of Travis, Tom and Ryann, Burn Theory creates a live environment that is not only heard, but also felt. 'That is the beauty of this' explains Tom, 'each instrument compliments the other so perfectly that it is like four brushes painting the same picture, but each one standing out in their own unique way, and you cannot help but feel it...'
