Brown Couch was started by its two lead singers (Jeff Himmelman and Brian Smith)who met in college while singing in a professional a cappella group. The band is is rooted in tight harmonies and funky grooves. Instruments include Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Mandolin, Upright & Electric Bass, Drums/percussion.

Brown Couch is currently touring throughout the East Coast, performing at clubs, colleges, and festivals. Jeff and Brian play acoustic sets as well as shows with the full band. Brown Couch's fan base has tripled over the last 4 months, culminating in a five day tour of NYC and CT with over 3000 people attending four shows.
