Brian McTamaney has played in many bands!! His first band was Use By Sunday in 1998. This was sort of a throw back to the early days of punk. It was here Brian started writing. Mostly these songs lyricaly speaking were Buddy Holly type tune. Rhyming 'true' 'blue' 'you, etc... After Use by Sunday broke up he started the short-lived Doors inspired, Edge of Reality. They broke up in about a month due to internal problems. Then Brian was in Alpha Orion, with two original members of Use By Sunday. This was kind of the same type of music as UBS but with a few differences. After this Brian started his own band named The Blind Dates. This is where Brian wrote and recorded his first album. The Blind Dates broke up due in part to the fact that the bass player often missed practices due to his drug problem, (and the fact he was an asshole), anyway, Brian then went solo. He is currently still solo and looking to put a small group together.
His songs are buoyant, emotionally direct, and catchy. His songs are all written produced and performed by him. They take much from Brian’s love of 50’s and 60’s Rock & Roll, but combine it with his other influences from punk to reggae. And at their core, they are hard-charging electric-guitar songs with a great raw energy. In all honesty Brian’s wish is to be a musician, and to make a living playing and recording his music.
