The Blues Monks formed in the early spring of 2001. Consisting of 6 members and a 7th (percussion) to come soon, this band takes a 21st century approach to traditonal psychedlic music mixing it with intricate jams and rockin' blues to form a very unique sound. Quest Management Chicago was quoted ' If Pearl Jam and Phish were to get together and form a band it might just sound like this, keep your eye on these guys'! This is a group of very dedicated young guys who live, breathe, eat and sleep music.

The BLUES MONKS consist of Ben Storm on vocals,harp,percussion; Dallas Wade on lead/rythym guitar; Colin Ryan on vocals,lead/rythym guitar; Peter James on vocals, keyboards; Oscar Loubriel on vocals,drums; Kenny on Bass; and coming soon Gonzo on hand drums&percussion. These seven young guys unite to create the BLUES MONKS unique and original sound.

This has been a busy year & a half for the band. We've played all over the Chicagoland Area, i.e: The Double Door, The Elbo Room, Penny Road Pub, Sammy K's, The Wooden Nickel, Gunther Murphy's, Oasis-One-Sixty, Peace Fest on Montrose Beach. So you can see we've had our hands full! The biggest change was losing our longtime bass player Pat Burke to the pursiut of a higher education, and his subsequent replacement. We are currently working a hand percussionist into the mix, which i'm sure will prove to be a positive challenge that we as a group could only benefit from.
