Blu Llama 2 redefines the genre with new alternative rock fueled with crunchy guitars, killer bass lines and driving rock beats. Their signature sound awes with rock heavy hooks and engaging two- and three-part harmonies that will blow you away...and then the guys get a little goofy. With a sense of humor rare in their genre, Blu Llama 2 spices up their show with a few songs such as 'Na Na, Chicks Don't Dig Me' or 'Elementary Filler' (where they rap the 'ABC's' to a rock beat). This four-piece band of Puyallup, WA has been compared to such artists as Eve 6, Good Charlotte, Bare Naked Ladies and even 'a cross between Elvis Costello and Blink 182.'
Blu Llama 2 just finished recording their 16-track LP, 'I Touched A Llama,' as a follow-up to 'A Birth To Be Remembered' (their 6-track EP from early 2002). With lots of positive feedback, they've been promoting 'I Touched A Llama' when and wherever they can. The new album has helped their brand of style to reach fans that are not only local, but global as well. They've recieved support from fans in other nations including Canada, Germany, Great Britain, and Australia. To help promote even more, these llama boys are planning several 'mini-tours' down the west coast in the coming months.
Unique harmonizing vocals is a huge part of what makes the Blu Llama 2 sound unique. That's not surprising when you learn that they originally met in the community college choir in Puyallup (2001). Jesse Anderson (guitar, vocals) and Peter Adams (bass, vocals) hit it off right away and started having regular jam sessions. At the time, Tim Connolly (guitar, vocals) was in another band,'Out Of The Void,' but when they informally broke up (summer 2001) he joined up with Jesse and Peter. A long-time friend of Peter's, Phillip Lazenby (drums), moved down from Alaska (fall 2001) and after a couple jams together, they knew that they had found all the right ingredients for Blu Llama 2.
