Brad (drums, vocals), Ed (vocals), Doug (guitar), and Jerry (bass, vocals)
Not so long ago and not too far away in 2002, Brad and Doug connected on a spiritual level that could only be known as 'Rock N Roll'. Although they were playing everything 'cover' at the time, they found themselves drawn to Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and other rock artists whose music had its roots in Rock N Roll. After wandering the musical coverband world for awhile, they rediscovered the band as an original in 2003. They soon hooked up with Ed in 2004, the current vocalist after dozens apon dozens of potential vocalists tried out for BlackRushin. Soon after in the fall of 2004, they would need a bass player and Jerry popped into the picture with his experience and added a little showmanship to the stage with his wild clothing and movements. The band is now a NEW BlackRushin, an LLC with a contract between all four members and the rest is history
The band is the brainchild of Brad Bell (Drummer, Vocalist) and Doug Shulkin (Guitar), long-time stewarts of the Detroit rock community. Doug and Brad pushed the band to write original material, which was first showcased as a demo in 2003 and titled 'Sometime The Sunshines'. Then Re-done as a demo in 2004 with Ed at the vocalist helm. The disc contained 9 original tunes. By December, 2004, the band had written other original songs together and are currently in the studio, professionally recording thier new CD. Once the CD is ready to roll out, brace yourselves for the HUGE release party!
The band is unique in that it is a true ensemble, featuring four experienced musicians. Just steps beyond the beginning of recording the new CD, BlackRushin is booking shows throughout the region. And looking beyond.
