Billy David has been writing songs in the privacy of his own home music room since 1994. He has recently made the bold decision to finally share what at one time only the walls and ceilings had privilege to hear. He has since then developed a nice following of fans. His soulful original songs contain lyrics we can all relate to as well as a hook that will have you humming them to yourself.
His songwritng style is unique and familiar both at the same time. He lets the flow of the muse determine many times what goes into the song. He has a sometimes unparalleled of expressing him self in a song. The songs come to him at times like someone opened up floodgates. 'It seems inspiration can leave you for awhile then hit you all at once like a surprise desert storm' as he puts it. He recently was recognized by the VH-1 Song of the Year contest for his alt-country flavored song ' Kentucky Wind'.
He is a self taught guitarist which he feels is the best way to go. His guitar playing is a combination of Pete Townshend, Neil Young, Keith Richards ...and maybe someone like John Denver thrown in there. He is currently shopping a demo of his original songs he has recorded himself on a digital home recorder. He plays live in the Northeast Ohio area. He has been treating crowds to his originals as well as off the wall cover songs you don't hear too often by a solo acoustic artist.
Many people who have been in the dark to Billy's music have been very pleasantly impressed. He has been urged by his growing following to pursue this as far as he can go in the very tricky music business. One fellow musician told him 'this is what you were meant to do in life'. He puts it this way ' Whether I become a recognized mega musician-sonwriter or I'm playing music for friends on my back deck I'm going to keep writing songs. The formula doesn't change either way. One day maybe one of my songs could help someone get through a tough time or maybe just give them some driving music on a long car ride. I'm happy to help whichever it is'. Give Billy's music a listen. The songs kind of speak for themselves. FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO: www.billydavid.com
