Big Daddy & Red Hot Java's music is contemporary Blues found where Chicago Blues and New Orleans World Beat/Funk meet. It's high energy polyrhythmic Blues soaking in Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, World Beat, R& B and Jazz influences yet never forgeting it's Blues core. Lead Vocalist 'Big Daddy' Webster is blessed with a four octave vocal range and a Chicago Blues/Gospel heritage. Lead Guitarist 'Cortez' Hightman has played with Luther Allison, Chuck Berry, and Danny Gatton bringing fiery fingerwork to his playing. Webster and Hightman combine their fifty-plus years Blues experience with a 'twenty-something' rhythm section of drummer 'General' Mills and Bassist 'Jakarta' John who both hail from Hollywood, Florida. It's a formidable combo!
Together they play an earthy Blues born of primal human emotion.
