High energy Rock and Roll band 'BoeWulf' was formed in 2001. All members of the band have 16+ years as active musicians. We are currently working on original material and have hope for a release this summer. All members of the band have different musicial backgrounds giving 'BeoWulf' a unique and powerful sound. Bringing together massive-powerful vocals, searing 'dual lead' and rhythm guitars, thumpin’-driving bass lines and bone crushing drums, we give you BeoWulf! What else do you need for a night of 'High Energy Rock & Roll'? BeoWulf delivers the entire package! The nucleus of the band, Gary Reed (guitar) and Brad Garrison (guitar), was formed out of the failure of many previous musical ventures in the Brighton area. 'We had a hell of a time trying to find local guys who could deliver on their word'. Knowing that together they had something good going, they set out to find the missing pieces. A chance meeting at a jam session in Whitmore Lake, lead Gary to Doug Woodcock (drums). 'After playing 6 or 7 songs with Doug, I knew I had to have him in our band', recalls Gary. 'He played with such enthusiasm and intensity; I knew he was the perfect fit.'
Having been discouraged by the local music scene, the guys decided to look outside of Brighton for a bass player and front man. So they started scouring the Internet. After receiving many early responses, they were most interested in a singer (Jeff LaMay) from White Lake that claimed to 'have it all'. 'We decided to call his bluff and give him an audition…boy am I glad we did!' After hearing him sing only three songs, they had their front man. Now they just needed a bass player. Having found success in the digital domain, they once again turned to the Internet. Gary found a posting for a bass player (Jeff Rath) from Canton that claimed to have 30+ years of bass experience. 'I said, I gotta hear this guy'. So they fired off an e-mail to him, who quickly responded that he would love to come try out. 'My first impression of the guy was that he filled all the holes that were left in our sound' He was able to do some really cool walking bass lines and he could throw in some funky little fills that we never had before…and he played a really cool Rickenbacker that sounded great. Once they added John Reed (Gary’s brother) as 'sound man' they had all the pieces. Now with all the spots filled, they had to decide on a name. 'We were looking for something with a medieval theme and stumbled across BeoWulf' (bayo-wolf). The name is taken from a fictional character in a 10th-century Scandinavian story. BeoWulf is a hero who saves the Danes from an evil demon named Grendal. And so in September of 2001, BeoWulf the band is born!

All members of the band were on a downslide in the music industry. Everyone was tired of playing with unprofessional, worthless, scabs for musicians. When BeoWulf was formed in September of 2001 we all something was different about this band. To this day, all the members of the band agree that this is the band and this is our calling. Everyone has the same goals and the same outlook on how far we want to go. The compition in the band to make things better for the band is outrageous. We will not stop until' we get our due for all those years wasted dicking around with those so called musicians. We know we have the talent, now all we need is to bring recognition to it. We will be the next best thing to rise to the occation in Detroit. We won't settle for less.
