Beneath Suspicion began in 1999 with a heavy influence of good time classic rock like the Stones, Tom Petty, John Cougar Mellencamp. John provides the honest and solid back beat and Rob with down home lead guitar. Randy came to the band with Rhythm guitar, but has since established the bass line, and does occasional lead work especially on Beatles songs. Dan added essential fills from the Keyboard, from flute on Marshall Tucker's Can't You See, to Xylophone on Buffet's Margarittaville, and honky tonk piano on Mustang Sally. Ray came to the band with a second guitar and a great voice for a full rock sound, with the range of CCR, Little Feat and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Beneath Suspicion delivers Rock 'n Roll as you like it, the way it was meant to be. Capable of from the gut blues, to three-part harmony, this band will get the audience on their feet to dance.
All the guys live within a mile of each other. Playing in Fairfax, Virginia - they regularly get their home crowd out and pack them in 'arses and elbows' at the local bars and clubs. 'That's the way we like it.'
'When you play in places that are normally the hang-outs of college kids, the bars love us, because we can fill a place, with folks who can pay their bar tab, and maybe buy dinner too.' - Dan. 'I figure if you get at least on heckler, and one flasher, you've delivered the Rock 'n Roll, you done your job.' - Rob.
