I have been playing the Liverpool Jazz circuit since the mid-fifties, including the Cavern (before The Beatles!) - I now have a lifetime's experience as a musician and a teacher to pass on.
My playing style is rooted in the blues, boogie piano of great such as Count Basie and Meade Lux Lewis, though I am also an Associate of The London College of Music. Moreover, my interest in Big Band led me to having my own orchestra throughout the fifties.
Furthermore, I have always enjoyed performing a latin flavoured repetoire, rooted in Cuban rhythms and a percussive style of play. This was developed during my time playing famous old haunts like The Pink Parrot and Dutch Eddy's!
I still gig frequently in the Liverpool area, but I also study Music as a life's work - which is why I'm spreading my ideas over the internet so that old tricks can be passed on to new minds and other cultures.
