Backseat Driver consists of Andy Molholt, Brendan Mulvihill, Rocky McCall and Andrew Morris, four guys from Lansdale, PA that share unique musical chemistry. Two years in the making, Backseat Driver finally formed in the summer of 2005. These long time friends and members of Lansdale area bands: Spoken Silence, Four sided Circle and Mosley, conceived the band as an outlet for the increasing amount of material they were producing. From the first moment the four of them officially united for a rehearsal session, this side project instantly became a priority overshadowing all other musical endeavors. That summer they patiently honed their sound and hit the studio to produce their premiere E.P., entitled 'Blueberry 9volt Music'. The E.P. is recorded and being mastered before its independent release expected in mid-March. Backseat Driver's unique sound is the result of a gamut of influences ranging from folk, electronica, post rock, and pop. The band's eclectic catalog of original music is reminiscent of such artists as Death Cab for Cutie, Radiohead, The Beatles, Broken Social Scene and Coldplay. Currently, the boys are hard at work going to school full time, adding the finishing touches to their E.P., and writing new material for a full length album.
Instrumentation includes: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Mandolin, Mandola, Xylophone, Drums, Banjo, and Cookie Packaging.
