Tapping the source of creativity and originality, Black Belt Jones has been dominating since it first hit the hardcore scene in 1998 and has kept pounding out shows relentlessly showing their passion for music and live performances. The intensely deep grooves thump the entire club due to the well-known low-end sound that has put Black Belt Jones on the map in the US, and plans to keep reaching out from DFW, TX stomping grounds.
In 1998 Black Belt’s self-titled six song EP was released, selling as quick as they could be printed. Towards the end of 1999 the first full-length album was cut called the “Texorcist”. Towards the end of recording, tragedy hit the band with the loss of singer Cody Wruble on the way home from recording. After time in mid 2000, the band regrouped feeling they had worked too hard to give up on all that had been accomplished in the short time together. Jack Brekenridge understanding the task at hand, picked up the mic and poured his heart into the already solid sound. This opened the floodgates of creativity and helped rededicate and focus the multiple talents of the band. Black Belt has released a demo with their new line up that has turned heads and turned on ears since the first track was played on the radio and when it was unleashed live. Bass player Scott Rice says “ When people see our passion for our music it instantly transfers to the audience, sometimes a little ! to much, like the time a girl showed me her two front teeth after a show, in her hand”
Black Belt Jones always has put their heads and hearts into their music, and has picked up some corporate sponsorship on the way. Black Belt now has the support of Jaegermeister alcohol and Dickies clothing company. The music is in a classification of it’s own. They’ve created a hard in your face style formulated through chunky riffs and tough grooves. Drummer Chad Bean says it best, “We’ve created a sound with no down time or slow changes” Black Belt Jones originated from several local acts such as Bad Lieutenant, Pusher, Watercloset, and Outhouse Dilemma. Collectively these guys are seasoned pros with recording experience, road miles, and performances with metal kings Pantera, Bloodhound Gang, Kid Rock, Drowning Pool, Ill Nino, Adema, Gravity Kills, Coal Chamber, Puddle of Mudd, Soilent Green, and Guzzard just to name a few. Black Belt Jones is bursting onto the scene with something original and fierce. It is safe to place bets on Black Belt Jones, because Black Belt sets the tone for every show with their high-energy live show and creative song writing.
