Originally formed in 1997 the music of August When is an evolving blend of imaginative intelligent electronica and the evocative themes of childhood, lost dreams, obsession, impossible love, unattainable highs and death.

Conceived by keyboard player Martin Gillespie as a predominantly instrumental band with occasional male and female vocals, and generally reflective in tone, August When compositions can be seen as the miniature soundtracks to the many varied episodes of life.
