Audible Stream was formed in September of 2001 by former members of the Cooler Side of the Pillow. The group strives to play original music, even in unfriendly territory. In the end, the band has developed an enthusiastic cult-like following of music lovers in southern Mississippi.
Audible Stream is Drew McKercher- vocals/guitar; Jesse Melkowits- guitar; Casey Robinson- bass; and Sara Moxley- drums. Drew is the main songwriter of the group with a wide range of influences. The vocals tend to be very melodic and internalized. The songs are about people- the fight between what feels good and what is good, a love affair with television, insanity, and the mystery of music.
All the members of the band are accomplished in their own right. Jesse, Drew, and Sara have been seperately involved in opening acts for several Grammy-nominated artists. Casey Robinson is a seasoned veteran of the Mississippi music scene, coming from groups such as Cookout and the Dukes of Jazzard. All the musicians have also studied music at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, this being where the band came together. The members also actively involve themselves in other musical outlets, such as acoustic performances and fusion projects.
The regional success of Audible Stream has lead them outward in a search for audiences with a love for new music. Whether it be a crowd of hippies, frat boys, or yuppies, Audible Stream is on it to make sure everyone leaves happy, because after all, music is the universal language.
