On May 13th, 2000, for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, Another Fine Mess has captured the covetous FIRST PLACE Grand Prize win at the American Music Festival 'Battle of the Bands' (located in Athens), which showcases ORIGINAL bands of Texas!
Another Fine Mess has been in existence since 1993, playing various venues in the North Texas area. They are one of Dallas/Fort Worth's finest, most versatile bands, concentrating on thought provoking lyrics and excellent musicianship. Their sound is best described as Southern Rock.
The quartet of Jeff Fowler (lead vocal and guitar), Michael Earhart (guitar and vocals), Bruce Benke (bass, vocals), and Stocker Travis (percussion) blend their musical influences into something that doesn't come about every day...ORIGINALITY. Jeff's background as a Los Angeles club singer/musician, thrown into the mix with Stocker's 'harder beat' drum background are a perfect counterpoint to Mike's more elegant guitar melodies. Adding to this, Bruce's rhythmic bass lines, and you have a clash of musicianship that effortlessly weaves it's way into an exciting, very listenable style, covering the ground from hard rock to blues to pop.
Another Fine Mess has shared the stage with Johnny Nitzinger (Bloodrock, Alice Cooper), and have jammed and written a song with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. They've opened for The Blues Brothers at Dallas Alley's 'Blues Fest', located in the historic West End.
