Annette Buckley is one of the finest vocalists/songwriters of her generation.
Originally it was her much-enthused performances at the Lobby Bar, Cork that increased her once quietly murmuring fan base into a cascade of local public recognition. To witness Annette Buckley on stage is an experience nothing short of religiously spiritual. A magnificent voice carries an endless flow of mystical lyrics. Each syllable, one feels, is born of that rare place where the eye of innocence stares into the darker outposts of humanity, and returns more deeply wise.
Since then, many have witnessed her inspired performances throughout Britain and Ireland. Annette has also opened for Juliet Turner in her sell out date at the Cork Opera House and the USA based Ryan Adams at the Kilkenny Rhythm'n'Roots Festival in May 2001.
More recently she has added Maria McKee, Nina Hynes, Eleanor McEvoy, Neil Halstead, Amy Rigby and the legendary Soft Boys to this number, as well as playing support in several venues to Phonograph on their Summer 2003 tour. In March this year, Annette took part in the Forward The Revolution tour in The Village, Dublin and also played as part of the 2003 Cork Mid-Summer Festival in the Everyman Palace Theatre.
