Times may change, we may be a little older but great music with a message is timeless. Originally formed in 1980 we, the members of Angel Street wanted to present our Christian faith through music we enjoyed. Most Christian music at the time had a lite pop feel to it that we found boring. All of us had musical roots that were much heavier than what was being played by Christian groups at the time; being influenced by groups like Rush, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Van Halen and Pink Floyd. At our first appearance (Minnesota Showcase 1) a music reviewer said of Angel Street ' I felt like I was going sixty miles an hour, standing still.' Obviously not meant as a compliment our reaction was. 'excellent!' We played through out Minnesota and Wisconsin for 3 1/2 years with good reviews. But over all people just were not ready to hear the Christian experience expressed in music that hard! We called it quits and thought that was the end of Angel Street. But the Lord works in mysterious ways. In 2003 Ryan Kelly the lead guitarist suggested we get back together to record some of the music we wrote. Everyone agreed it was good idea and would be a lot of fun. We reunited minus one member who due to physical injuries could no longer play guitar. (Dennis Wegner) The result is our first CD titled 'This Is Not A Test' We all felt a strong calling to play live again and debuted at the Sonshine music festival in Willmar, MN. Christian music has finally caught up to what we had been doing 20 years ago. With everything going on in the world the music is more relevant now than when it was originally written. It is time to rock! It is time to hit the street! Welcome to ANGEL STREET!
