ANDREW GOLDRING plays the blues of Kings - Albert and Freddie - along with the acoustic blues of Robert Johnson and the blues-rock of Hendrix, Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Andrew brings a skilled guitar style and voice well beyond his 13 years. Andrew has performed on KSL Televison's early morning news program. He regularly sits in on guitar with blues and jazz bands up and down the Wasatch Front and now he's fronting his own blues-rock power trio The Rosedale Power Company - holding down vocals and lead guitar - with veterans Wes Whorton and Eric Lindquist rocking solid on drums and bass.
Drawing on the Texas Blues of Stevie Ray and his influences, Jimi Hendrix and Freddie King, Andrew has developed his own aggressive guitar style at blues jams and barbecue joints all over Northern Utah. Adept at interpreting blues classics from Albert King to Buddy Guy, Andrew is also writing original blues and jazz material and even branching out into some funk and rock as well.
Equally comfortable with a Stratocaster, a Martin acoustic or a jazz box, Andrew is a well-rounded musician who also plays a little drums. He enjoys rocking electric with his band, but also performs solo acoustic sets, both instrumental and vocal. Besides his blues gigs with The RPC, Andrew occasionally sits in for the acoustic Gypsy Jazz of Django Reinhardt with Rich Daigle and The Red Rock Hot Club.
