Amit Savyon's ipod ranges from Brahms to Mr Bungle and everything in between, but the best way to characterize his musical tastes is that he doesn't listen to music by genre, but by intention. And while the music Amit plays isn't nearly as varied as the music he listens to, he does span a few different genres in his songwriting and compositions.
That being said, his music does mainly fall within the singer-songwriter category, because the majority of his songs were written on guitar. On stage it is just Amit and his guitar. In the studio, he attempts to use as many organic sounds as possible, which is not due to taste or preference to the sounds themselves (i.e. he has no bias against computer-generated sounds) just that he feels more comfortable with his hands on a physical object that he can manipulate in real space. He just feels a more immediate music connection with that kind of instrument.
You can download his music for free on his website, no strings attached. So come one, come all. Have a listen, stop reading about him. :)
